I was told it was a Donald Ross course, wow, either he was drinking heavily or it is actually a Ronald Doss course because I have played many Ross courses and find it hard to believe that he would ever put his name on this work. There is not a hole on this course that you can't get drilled by a stray golf shot. I got hit twice in 2 days on the same hole. Its an old course but strange. 2 and 6 are maybe the 2 worst greens i have ever set foot on. 6 is really unplayable, make it an auto 2 putt if you play it. Good luck, and make sure your insurance is paid up before playing.

Shadow Ridge Golf Course

A Donald Ross design. Ross was born in 1872 in the town of Dornoch, Scotland. He was both a teaching and playing professional. He is arguably the greatest golf course architect the world has ever seen. He has designed ocer 400 courses world wide, here are just a few of his courses, Pinehurst #2, Oakland Hills Country Club. Closer to home there is Kent Country Club and The Highlands Golf Club, both of Grand Rapids, and yes right here in our home town of Ionia there's Shadow Ridge Golf Course built in 1916!
