This course is great. It is challenging and wonderful for beginners (which would be me). My husband enjoys it as well and he has been golfing for well over 25 years! The owners are friendly, and everyone we have ever met on the course has always beem nice and courteous. Keep up the good work, White Oaks!
My fiance and I played the course on 3/27/2010. We were the only ones there. We attempt to find hole #1 from the map on the card...and still have no clue where we were going. Fortunately, the owner drives up at that point and gives us some guidance on the layout of the course which was extremely helpful. He was a great guy...and was appreciative of us playing what appears to be his private course. Its an interesting...and funky layout. The front is very short with par 3's of 80 to 120 yards. The back has a number of 130+ holes. The course is not well marked and it was a guess many times to figure out where the next hole was. The owner would be well served to put in some directional signs to guide new players to the next hole. Fortunately he was mowing..and when we looked lost..he came over to point us in the right direction. The greens were completely brown...and per the owner..a little rain and a couple of weeks and they will be in great condition! The putting at this point was "iffy". On 2 holes in the front and 2 or 3 holes on the back nine.... there are trees directly between you and the green. I kid you not!! You either go over...or under..or around. I did none of those! That was the funky part of the course. There was a bathroon...which my fiance appreciated greatly!!All in all..it was fun..and a pleasant afternoon. I would wait until the greens come in before I play it again!Oh...you pay on the honor system. You put your money in an envelope in a box in front of the clubhouse. When was the last time you saw that????
