Quirky, short, and wet. This course is very reminiscent of the "Witch" golf course in Myrtle Beach. In fact, that is the nickname of this track, with the same moniker and logo on their advertisements. It's a fitting parallel, as this course winds through a bog not unlike that 80's movie "Swamp Thing". Bring lots of balls, bug spray (with deet) and a handgun with spare ammo-(I'll get to that later). All of the holes are named after existing and defunct courses in Myrtle Beach. High handicappers should leave their woods in the bag, or better yet, the car. This course is so tight that even good players are second guessing club choice. There is water EVERYWHERE. Little ponds and streams traverse practically every fairway, making accuracy of utmost importance. The course has more than it's fair share of par 3's, but that does not make it boring. You'll be praying for them after the par 4's and 5's. It may sound like I'm slamming this course a little, but I'm actually not. I'm big on course aesthetics; and aside from the rv park, this course is second to none among those of it's type. The greens are small and undulating, but normally in pretty nice shape. The fairways are well defined, and the rough is fairly cut. The course itself is in the middle of nowhere and I suspect that the rv park would be a prime location for a clandestine meth lab (this is where the gun comes in handy), but who am I to judge. The clubhouse is no frills, but is well stocked with snacks, and they do have a grill. The green fees are also VERY reasonable. Overall, I'd recommend you give it a shot if you are in the area (and can find it).
