Played a round recently while visiting daughter in Palm Bay. We've played a couple of other courses in the area, including the other muni, Mallard's Landing.

This is a pretty nice course and prices not bad for late October. Course was in excellent condition. Greens and tee boxes well-kept. Fairways in good condition.

Couple of tips if you are going to play here:

1. They expect you to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to your tee time. Counter guy and starter were a bit miffed that we got there pretty close to our tee time, but in plenty of time to tee off on schedule. They made it sound like the 30 minutes prior was a standard at golf courses; new one on me. We routinely arrive about 15 minutes prior to tee time where we usually play in Sarasota County.
2. Riders, not playing, get charged for riding along. Not sure what this is supposed to accomplish. In addition to my wife, daughter, and myself we had our 11 year old son along. He plays some, but usually when there's no crowd, so he was just a ride along this time. First time we've ever been charged for his riding along and we've done it at numerous courses.
3. The rough is brutal in some areas, don't miss the fairways.

Nice Municiple Course

I played this course which is located right in the middle of town on route 192 in Melbourne, and for a municiple course it's what I'd expect. The clubhouse is small and pretty crappy (remodel!)...they try, but don't get excited, it's a municiple course. The pro shop is little more than a room where some guys watch TV waiting for you to come in and pay for you round of golf. But since you are here to play golf let's discuss the course. It's long! The holes are long and wide, and only a few holes really put up a fight. There are some really nice challenges, but overall it's a relatively easy course. There is a stream running through the course which cuts a couple holes in half, and probably offers the best scenic vistas, but the man-made ponds look out of place on a course that has few trees and little rough to speak of. The sand traps are sparse and most offer little challenge to get out of. If you are looking to learn golf, play here, it is not intimidating and can be fun. For a challenge to your game seek golf elsewhere. 4 hours minimum to walk 18 with a foursome, it's long. Maybe that's the challenge?

Driving range was beat up today, but that seems standard around this area. Tee boxes were well maintained. What I don't understand is how the greens were in such bad shape. They were very bad. There has been enough rain here lately to keep the fairways muddy and rutted yet not enough to maintain the greens? Putts should not be bouncing!

Very good value

Good course for me. I`ve come off of some major physical dificulties and is a pleasure to play a not so hard course to build my skills and confidence. Good putting and chipping green. Driving range could use some yard markers. Eyes are not as good as yesteryear. Bob R

A good choice for the beginner. Fairways are wide and there is very little rough. Pretty good condition for a municipal and very good value at the price. It does get very busy at times so be sure to use the telephone booking service 6 days in advance.

Nice course for a practice round (which I need!) Big, open fairways, very little water or other hazards in play. Easy course, but this isn't bad as I find it great for building confidence. Inexpensive, fairly well maintained.

It's a good golf course for beginners because there are not to many houses. Other than that the course is very managable with few difficulties. This is a good course to start out in golf, or to fine tune your swing.

nice flat course, well maintained, good staff. A good course for the money, can usually get a T-time short notice.

Can't remember, much about it because it was so long ago, but believe it was nice.

good for a cheap quick play but if your not a beginner this will not be fun
