The Executive Course at Kings Point is a shorter course with plenty of challenges along the way. The course is always well maintained, which you can’t always say about executive courses. The greens roll fast and the fairways and tee boxes are always lush. The course is a par 60 and plays 3,900 yards with holes ranging from 114 to 388 yards. It was originally designed by Robert Trent Jones, ASGCA, and underwent renovations from tee to green that were completed in 2009. For an executive course, you get to hit many of the clubs in your bag. Beginners might get frustrated with the numerous traps, but other players may enjoy the challenge that makes Kings Point far from a pushover. The course is usually about $32 to play, the pace moves well, and you should be done in around three hours. Water comes into play on most holes, but the front is highlighted by the fifth, a slight dogleg to the left on which you’ll have to skirt your tee shot between two water hazards. The eighth is a 341-yard par-4 that bends sharply to the right and you’ll need to avoid multiple water hazards on both sides. The back-nine kicks off with a really tight par-4 where the green is guarded by a ton of water in front, so long hitters will have serious decisions to make. You finish with a 17th hole that can be a hook or slice nightmare and a short par-3 18th hole. The 12 par-3 feature varying distances, but all have small greens that are easy to miss. The course is easily accessible off of I-95, so if you’re looking for a quick round without having to drive far, Kings Point is a great option.
