My wife and I live in NoVa and try to golf King Carter at least 5 times a year. It is our favorite course by far. I''ve also played the nearby Golden Eagle and thought King Carter was a much nicer course (and $20 cheaper). Though the course can be busy, we''ve never had pace of play problems and most patrons have good etiquette and let faster groups play through. We play from the white tees (5700) yards, but due to the forced carries, rough, woods and hazards, the course is still very challenging - it gobbles up balls if you are not straight. The greens and fairways are in wonderful shape. The back nine is gorgeous, through the woods with lots of beautiful views and elevation changes.

I played on Monday June 2, 2008. The course is very well maintained. Playing from the blue tess (6300 yards) was very challenging, with many forced carries, and many doglegs. The fairways were perfect, the rough very thick, and the greens as good as I have played. All for $42, which included a bag of range balls. The staff was friendly, informative, and even had a snack cart working at 10am in the morning on a weekday! Its a long way from Richmond, but I'll be back!

King Carter Golf Course, one great time.I had a great time playing the course on a warm day in FEB (20th)2007. Front nine was fairly open with large Fairways. When the back nine was where the fun began. Most of the greens are nicely protected with some large and deep well maintained bunkers. This course was somewhat challenging for me (I carry a large handicap) but I still had a great time and will be going back for more. Great Course and people too (The Mayers).
