SAVE YOUR GAS AND MONEY.

This course is AWFUL. Do not let the nice trees fool you.

You can play this course 2 ways... 7iron-7iron-putter, or 3w-sw-putter. Every, single, hole. So leave your bag at home.

The owner is a mean drunk. He yells at the poor girls that work the desk and bar. Probably a Napoleon complex thing goin on... He also sucks at golf so get a lesson from your neighbor instead.

If you love to wait on every tee box, this course is for you. Tall Pines could be called Short Fairways.

The back nine smelled like marijuana. It might not be the course's fault I did not see any growing, although it speaks to the classy nature of this place.

When its wet its a swamp, when its dry its concrete. Consider laying up on the cart path for a softer roll at the green...

Speaking of the greens, bring a magic 8 ball to help you guess. Because your balls will roll opposite the break.

Also, careful with loved ones in the car, since everyone drives home PLASTERED.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GAS. Golf somewhere else.

I have to disagree with some of the previous posted comments. I thought this course was very nice! I wasn't expecting much and was pleasantly surprised how good of shape the course was in. Played it with my dad today (July 7, 2017). With few exceptions, the fairways, greens and tee boxes were in great shape. Everything was very green. I thought the course layout was challenging but fair. My only regret was that I played only 16 holes. A rain/wind storm blew in while waiting on the 17th tee and we didn't finish the final two holes. We should have went back out once the storm front blew through.

Anyway, I would highly recommend this course for anyone living in Northeastern PA or Southern NY. The weekday rates made this course a very good value for the money. I would have no hesitation going back.

Tall Pines golf course

Tall Pines is located just inside Pennsylvania, off route 26 (from N.Y. state). This can be a tough course, with narrow fairways and somewhat sloping greens. The location is fairly secluded, with little in the way of houses or people. Trouble is always lurking nearby in the shadows. There are rock outcroppings to bounce errant shots around (and usually out of play), tree lined fairways, and water placed in strategic locations (often times out of sight from the tee). When this course gets dry, I avoid it like the plague. Shots will run like a rabbit-and usually into trouble. The clubhouse is nice, with a bar and grill and a little pro-shop. Green fees are a touch pricey-considering the drive, but coupons are available.

The course is ok. It is a long drive for the money. You can play a lot nicer courses close to town. It has improved every time that I have played it. The owner in the restaurant is always screaming at employees. Customer appreciation is lacking. I rather spend my money elsewhere.

I really enoyed this course. Not too difficult but still a challenge. Well worth the 20 minute drive from Binghamton. Very well maintained, and very pretty scenery. I would ignore the previous reviews and give this course a try.
