The 18-hole "Red Rock" course at the The Golf Club At Red Rock facility in Rapid City, South Dakota features 5,761 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Designed by Ron Farris, the Red Rock golf course opened in 2003.
Red Rock is a pretty good course to play. Many shots require accuracy and plenty of carry to be safe for your next shot. The course was in great shape from tee to green considering the drought in this region. I played in July of '12. Due to this heat it was disappointing not to have a beverage cart driving around. The GPS in the carts were great. In my mind I had built this course up to be incredible, I came away a bit let down. It just didn't live up to my expectations. I would suggest it to others to play but I caution them that it costs over $60 on a weekday to play. I don't feel that this course justifies that cost.Nice staff and tough greens save this course for me.
