Love this course. I played this course with my 13 year old son. We enjoyed the brand new tees with short distances for juniors. We also noted several unique features of the course. In addition to sand bunkers we found sand mountains, sand waterways and grass bunkers all of which are easier to hit out of than some of the more traditional hazards. The course was very forgiving and we only lost one ball the entire round which was good for us beginners. We found the staff to be exceptionally personable, the restaurant the finest with a view of the waterfall at the 18th tee and starters were well organized. We also enjoyed the driving range. We hit off real grass instead of tee mats. The other golfers were friendly and accepting. It was a lot of fun and we will definitely be back.

Nice courseRancho Vista can be a fun easy course or a hellhole course, depending on the wind. It is always slightly windy but after 11:00 am the wind kicks in and at least 6 of the holes are real challenges. The only down side is the constant maintenance and workers driving thru your fairway all the time. The other bummer is the condition of the bunkers - the sand is harder than woodpecker lips and almost never raked once they fill up with water. The greens are fast and great, most of them have nice suttle breaks that are hard to read for a first timer. Fairways are great and the rough is rough. One thing that would make the course play much better would be the addition of porta johns on the course.
