Staffs are very friendly and the course is great!

I'm not sure about any of these previous reviews, but I cannot give this course anything less than 5 stars. I played this course for the first time this past weekend, and was blown away. The most notable feature of this course is the difficulty/variety of the holes. The slope rating is 144 (2nd highest for DFW courses), and the length is above average from the tips. A few holes are laid next to one another, so an errant tee shot can leave you on a different fairway. Course conditions were awesome, greens included. Rates are reasonable, and clubhouse was very nice.

Shot selection is key on nearly every hole, and I would've been better off keeping the driver in the bag. Rough was well-kept, but there were numerous hazards that came into play (woods, water, etc). Pace of play was good, although I played at an off time. Definitely not a "grip and rip" type course, and rewards patient golf.

One knock is that the course is a little out of the way, but well worth the drive. Staff was friendly, and scenery was very nice. Overall, a great round of golf; will definitely be back often.

I have played the course now 3 times (march-april 2012)and I must say I am not too impressed. Don't let the name "resort" fool you. And although the course is near Eagle Mountain Lake, do not expect to be playing golf with breathtaking lakeside views (I could only see any part of the lake at one point during the round). I think this course is nothing more than average. Facility and layout actually has potential, but I agree with other above posts that many of the holes seem crammed together and the condition of the course is not very good.
Some positives: There are a few holes that are impressive such as #7 and #16, where the water hazards feature rock retaining walls that could be found at any top ranked course in state, and can be challenging. The clubhouse and practice facility also in imprssive, and leads you to believe that you are at a top notch facility. But once you arrive on the first tee, you find out that things are no more than average.
If the condition of the course was better, and the prices were just a bit lower, I could see myself playing here more often. But for now, I feel that other courses in the area provied a much better golfing experience.

Course is interesting but greens are HORRIBLE! Many of the greens are in terrible condition with large areas with no grass and its still mid May. They need to give up on bent. The fairways are pretty good and the bunkers are ok. Thumbs DOWN! 5/2011

This was a 9 hole course that they crammed 9 more holes into, therefore you have impossible narrow fairways and other players hitting into you. Not a fun couse to play.

I played this course twice in the past 6 months and I couldn't have been happier. This course isn't long playing just 6626 yards from the tips but it is a good test(the slope is 144!). Some of the fairways are pretty narrow and require well placed tee shots but never is the course unfair. #16 is the toughest and the most dramatic hole on the course. A good approach shot is needed to hold the green and have a good shot at birde there! There are a good variety of interesting holes on the course and if you've got it together you have a good chance to go low here. Several holes are drivable with a little helping wind and the par 5's are almost all birdie holes. The greens were pretty fast both times I played there and they have some movement, we didn't have many straight putts. The Course was in excellent condition both times I played there and the range facility and short game area are nice as well. My first round there was a Tournament in scramble format and my group shot a 59 leaving a few birdies out there. Everyone in the group commented about the layout and wanted to play the course again! Join the e-club and watch for their special rates. Occasionally you can play the course with cart fees and range access for $20 at that price it's a no brainer. It's one of if not my absolute favorite course in the DFW area!
