Set amongst the Tortolita Mountains, Stone Canyon Golf Course boasts some of the best desert golf scenery in the country. The course has been ranked among the best in America, and was brought into the public spotlight when The Match 3 visited Stone Canyon in November of 2020. The course features 6,704 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 72.0 and it has a slope of 135 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Jay Morrish, ASGCA, the Stone Canyon golf course opened in 2000. Arcis Golf manages this facility, with Mike Russell, PGA as the General Manager. Mickelson Golf Properties purchased the facility in 2014 and opened a 25,000 square foot clubhouse in 2016. The course was later sold to Arcis Golf in 2021.
Morrish’s design features deep bunkers, undulating fairways, and several forced carries. The terrain includes the trees and brush familiar to desert golf, with no shortage of cactus waiting for errant shots just off the fairways and incredible mountain views in the distance.
