MF0526 is not as far off as some think. I live here and have played this course several times. All I will say is that it is definitely not in the top 10 in the area.

Positives:- Conveniently located in PSL- A very challenging course for 10-25 handicappers- Good obstacles- Decent scenery- Long- Decent amenitiesNegatives:- service could be improved, especially in the pro shop (made a bad first impression with my 4-some)- maintenance on back nine needs improvement- not junior-friendly- long walks between certain holes- not a course for those who like to walk 9 or 18Bottom Line:I am not particularly fond of the St. James Golf Club. I can talk from genuine experience, as I live 3 minutes north on Selvitz Road. With that being said, this course is going downhill; it needs to lower its rates to increase popularity and its standing in our Treasure Coast community. Unpopular for a variety of reasons (course layout, bad service, horrendous maintenance), perhaps new ownership can change the direction of the already worn-out St. James Club.
I am a traveling golfer & often stay at PGA Village. I found St. James during my last visit to Port St. Lucie West. The course is just a few minutes off of St. Lucie West Blvd & costs 1/3rd the price. The staff is friendly & the course is challenging & well maintained. We didn’t have a tee time & the staff let us off of the back nine. We played in 3 hours & had a fantastic lunch. All for a fraction of what we would’ve paid just a few miles away.
