Played Crane Creek yesterday. Played Crane Creek today. Playing Crane Creek tomorrow. Can''t get enough. There''s no beverage cart so I got some beverages in a cooler on ice when I checked in and stayed hydrated. The course was busy so had to wait on a couple of holes, but finished in good time. There are a few bare places, but overall still a beautiful course and a GREAT place to play. Oh yeah, I even saw a turkey on the course! (A real one - not the last reviewer)

I played Crane Creek in 2008 and found the course layout great and the overall conditions acceptable. I returned to play two rounds on August 22, 2010 and in one word would describe the day as pathetic. The greens fees were $35 including cart and when the pro shop attendant told us to “Have fun” I actually thought he was serious. After playing, I can’t believe that he charged us. The course was in such terrible shape, he should have given us money to play it. At one point we had a wager that whoever hit the ball on grass won a dollar. It was that bad. The tee boxes were complete dirt and it looked as though there was nothing being done to improve them or the fairways. The greens were the only thing in decent shape and that is being generous. After finishing the first round we had lunch. The woman who helped us was lovely and very nice. She was without a doubt the highlight of the day. As we were eating lunch at 1:00pm we noticed that the beverage cart woman was unloading her cart. We drove for an hour to play the course so we decided for $10 bucks we would replay the dirt track like we had planned. Venturing out for our second round which happened to be the hottest part of the day, we found out the hard way that there isn’t a single water cooler on the course. We also remembered that we were never going to see the beverage cart again. They did make sure to tell you that you cannot bring your own beverages on the course or you will be escorted off without refund. So there we were baking in the summer sun without any options for drinks. They say golf is a mental game. I can say without hesitation that this course took its very toll on my mental & physical golf game. Spare yourself and avoid Crane Creek. You’ll thank me… PS. The starter made us aware of all the bad things we could do to get thrown out and then said “Have fun.” Here I thought we were there to play golf. Looking back, there’s nothing we could have done to hurt that course.
