I should like this course more. Not sure why I don't. It's very hot, not too many trees. Gets pretty damp even on dry days due to humidity or maybe it's the sprinkler system. Huge "no man's land" areas that make for annoying hazards. Lots and lots of micro terrain with little depressions, bumps and slopes on fairways. I feel like my ball is never, ever on level ground even in middle of the fairways.

A lot of tournaments are played here and I'm always glad to attend but then, for whatever reason, I have a mediocre round. Like I said, it's probably just me but everytime I play there I finish thinking "okay, I've had my fill of this place for a while."

This was by far my favorite course played while in Virginia Beach (also played Heron's Ridge and Hell's Point). A Pete Dye / Curtis Strange collaboration. Used to be TPC Virginia beach but now Virginia Beach National. I went out as a single on the 1st tee time of the day - 7 am. They charged me the resident rate $55 saving me $20. Great value. 5 sets of tees so good for all levels of play. Excellent maintenance - the fairways were cut short and the green played true to form. Finished in 3 1/2 hours. Yardage markers were everywhere - in the fairway as well as along the cart path. Beautiful scenary. Felt like dessert golf.

Very Nice!

This is very near home and I have played here several times the most recent being 11 March '07. TPC is no longer affiliated with the course and the City of Virginia Beach purchased it. The green fees have dropped already and I think it is a great value now. This is a very nice course, well maintained and the kind of course you would expect from the "TPC" name. Great staff and the course was in great shape every time I have played there. I just hope we don't lose it!

The course itself was a good value and a decent course that clearly was a very nice course at one point. The staff however was the rudest I have ever encountered in 20 years of playing golf. I had never previously been yelled at on a golf course or treated more inappropriately, and I would never return to this course simply because of the poor customer service. There are better courses in the area, and all of them will treat their customers with more courtesy and respect.

Former TPC course that is now owned by the City of Virginia Beach so fees are now making this course a better value. One of the best draining courses I have ever played on. We played one round 3 years ago in the remnants of a tropical storm and there was very little water pooling on fairways everything drains into numerous waste bunkers scattered throughout the course. Very nice Pro Shop and excellent club house and restaurant/bar area.

TPC of Virginia Beach

My cousin Bob and I played the TPC on 02/22/07-(the off season), so we didn't expect the course to be pristine. It was nonetheless well maintained and a joy to play. The staff treated us very well and we truly appreciated the experience. If you like links style golf, I would recommend this course. The clubhouse is what you would expect from an upscale course. The carts are electric and work well.

Now that it is no longer a TPC course it is probably the best value for a PGA built course. The course is in immaculate condition, it plays like a Pete Dye design with several risk/reward shots to be had. If I can play this course every time I go back to VA, I will!

the fairways weren't in the best shape ever. the greens were fantastic and the course was fairly challenging. If the staff decided to maintain the fairways just a little better it would be a great golf course. overall it was a pretty good golf course
