Whistling Straits

Honestly, find someone who isn''t taken back by this. I was fortunate enough to be given a complementary round here from work and enjoyed every minute of this course. I walked 18 holes with a foot in pain and still had a smile on my face. I was definitely out of my league, but couldn''t pass up the opportunity. Wind was HOWLING that day and still have managed worse scores on easier courses. I generously deposited a few balls into Lake Michigan, but who doesn''t? The staff and our caddy was great. I truly enjoyed this pristine course.

I played this one as a single with a caddy as the sun was coming up. Nirvana. Long. Hard from the rear tees. A lot like what you will play across the pond (hard fast fairways, patchy grass, etc.) but with more length. Great scenery with the elevations and Lake Michigan. It looks more intimidating than it really plays, because many of the bunkers are not in your way unless you really screw up a shot. The caddie I had was a real pro and very helpful. 5 star price to match the 5 star resort. Can't avoid it if you want to play this one, and you SHOULD want to play this one. Yeah, it's worth it.
