The desert has been cleared out significantly from what it used to be. This makes it easier for those of us who tend to hit errant tee shots but also makes it less challenging. The course is still pretty well maintained and a great value in my opinion but I do miss the intimidation the desert provided before.

I'm a 20 hpr, and played this course on a Friday,12/21/07 @ 7:45AM, the club house staff were super! (very friendly and helpful since this was my first time playing there) The range balls were very old and dirty just as the last reviewer stated. (F.G.C please buy new range balls ASAP!) However the practice range/putting green was in very good shape. The course was a little confusing-*I suggest that F.G.C. print pics of the holes on the top of the score card (Aguila G.C. does that and it's very helpful) The fairways and greens were kept in very good condition but, just as the previous reviewer wrote, the so call "sand" in the bunkers played like a heavy dirt. The rate was resonable and I will return to play this course again.

Played this morning (11/23). Internet rate showed $39 for holidays (today was the day afer thanksgiving), yet they charged us $59. Management said that the internet rates were subject to change without notice and they had decided to charge an additional $20 above and beyond their published holiday rates(50% more) because it was their busiest day. Price gouging is no way to encourage return golfers. That being said:Range balls were old and filthy, the course was in mediocre condition and the bunkers were filled with dirt. Certainly not worth $59.
