I have been playing golf at Bayview for the past 3-4 years because it has been a friendly place for beginners to learn. However, I went last week and the new management has put some very rude and unfriendly people in charge of the starters office. It looks like they were some kind of recovering crackhead family or something. They had some family member with their dog just hanging out on the 9th green. In my experiences earlier, driving on the fairways was allowed at times. I received no warning from the starters box, and was yelled at very rudely by the toothless crackhead looking guy in the golf cart. He cursed at my girlfriend and threatened us to leave the course after playing 2 holes(we paid $50 for 18 holes). They are the most unprofessional people I have ever met at a golf course. If Bayview doesnt want to go out of business again, they need to be a little more concerned about who they employ. Those people are a lawsuit waiting to happen. I would not recommend this course to anyone and I have told everyone I know that they are still closed.

I started playing at this course in nov08 and because I was new it seemed ok. After visiting other courses I recently went back to bay view and sad to say they have to rename the greens to the browns. Its made up of patchy grass and dead grass(making serious putting impossible). Oh yes... in the past, they would draw you in by making the visible greens nice but now not even those are green. The comments about the rude staff is no exageration. Im praying for new owners too because this is an awesome location and good layout. They dont want to spend any money hiring a staff that knows what they're doing instead of the owner out there all day trying to cut the whole place himself. Someone needs to inform them that healthy green grass needs water!!!

Just started playing golf 3 months ago after a layoff of 27 years(to help raise kids). Started hitting at driving range and eventually play at the 18 hole par 3 course. The course is challenging with 6 par 4 holes, longest a little over 300 yards. The course is well kept, but greens need more attention, but overall continue to play there for convenience, view, location. Great for developing your short game irons, and fairway metals. Cost is reasonable, though it could use a snack bar instead of vending machines, but overall will continue to play there until game is improved. Other regulation courses in Hawaii are difficult to make tee times and costly. For now it suits my needs and love the staff.

By far the worst golf course on the Island. The starter was rude and her loser husband/boyfriend was sleeping on the couch out side the starters office. I have played at this course since it was a $5 a round 9 hole dump back in the 80's. It was better back then. Any course would be a better choice than this one. In fact if your contemplating golfing here you should seek professional help. I'm waiting for them to go bankrupt and be bought out again before I go back. It might be a good place to go to buy drugs if that's you thing. Stay Away!

Badly in need of work.

We first played this course four years ago. It was, at that time a nice, fun to play course---Good iron practice.
Sadly, it has been in continuing deterioration.
New owners just took over several months ago, and it appears they are
beginning to do some repairs. Most fairways and greens need work, and bunkers need a lot of work.

October 2007.

Since the last time we played this course in April, it has continued to deteriorate.

We were told that this course will close October 31.

The new owners/management are terrible. They have absolutely no interest in treating their patrons with any respect. The prior owners/management were very friendly and kept us coming for years. After this latest experience I have decided that I will never again return to play at this course. I must admit that the course did look in a little better repair, but it is not worth being treated like dirt. I will not be surprised if this course goes out of business quickly.

The golf course is in much better shape then when I had played on it last year. I guess there's a new management firm working and I could actually find my balls even if I hit them in the rough. Also the starter box people seem to be new and were very friendly. The greens have gotten better and seem to be improving. Also the course is reasonably priced...i think $20 for 18 plus 10 for cart. I would recommend to new comers or people who just want to have fun.

contrary to what the person before me said, i spoke with the new owner and he's actually a licensed superintendent. the dry greens was a result of a sprinkler pump that broke down, which the previous owners didnt maintain. i actually went yesterday and they started verticutting the which should make it more level and consequently greener with more water. healthy grass isn't all about water either...sun fertilizer herbicide/funjicide.
