Played this course twice over a two day period. The course is short but challenging because of the elevation changes some as much as 180 yard drops. The views are amazing!!! You need to be able to hit the ball straight to take advantage of the soft greens. Course in good shape and the clubhouse is nice along with the layout. Hole 5 is a great risk reward par 5 hole with one the 4 180 yard drops. Hole 6 is as hard a par 4 you will play at #1 HCP. The staff is very friendly and willing to tell you all about the course and how to play it. Other very interesting design is the back 9 with 4 par 3''s and back to back par 5''s. Overall a very good par 70 6,097 yard course. Will come back and play it again when I am in the area.

This course is a nice mountain course, a lot of elevations changes. Not a very difficult course, greens are in decent shape. They need to spend more money or the maintenance side, feritilizer, man hours, aerating, etc. The greens have some bare spots that they continue to have problems with. The ammenities are nice, a good pro shop and a great restaurant. They also have a range, practice green, and chipping area. The views are nice also.

Unquestionably the best resort destination property in the North Carolina mountains. From the condo we stayed in to the brand new golf clubhouse, Persimmon Grille, and of course one of the most spectacular mountain golf courses we have ever played. This place has it all!
