This is an extremely overated golf course that gets its high ranking beacuse Coore and Crenshaw designed it. An easy golf course, I think, just don't see it; I can think of 10 golf courses in GA that are better just off the top of my head; and I have played lots of good ones but my no means have I played all the ranked ones. It is not bad but to be mentioned in the same breath as some of the courses that rank before and behind it is a joke. Coore and Crenshaw can lay out some classics, no doubt, but this is not one of them. I really don't get it; Great Waters and the Oconnee course at the Ritz are better and they are 10 minutes away. I am sure it cost to much to join when there are so many other better golf courses in Atlanta and even in Eatonton.RANKED AHEAD OF ATHLETIC CLUB; RIVERSIDE OR HIGHLANDSWHAT A JOKE.I would put a bet that if 100 people played all 3 courses in a 3 day stretch (in any order)80-90 would rank Cuscowilla last.Who puts out these things. Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore must be doing something to somebody

Nice but not #2It is a wonderful course with great scenery. A pleasant challenge and change from the more traditional course. But, being ranked the #2 residential community is way off base. There are very few homes, it is only one course, and strives for significant guest play.It exists in an emerging community, but doesn't provide much beyond golf.Just down the road is Reynolds Plantation offering 6 1/2 golf courses in a diverse community. RP has significant clubs, groups, and a health club the is at the top of the list.
TOUGH GREENS!A great lynx/brittish style course found on beautiful lake Ocone while dabbed with a touch of georgia pines combines difficult greens and lengthy holes with shorter, dirveable par fours. This combined with the memorable 14'th 623 par 5 from the tips makes a dramatic yet unforgettable round of golf that cannot be duplicated anywhere in the world. These have to be some of the most dynamic, difficult, yet exciting greens i have ever played on in my entire life. They can only be compared in difficulty to Augusta National when the conditions are right. I would reccommend this course to any golfer, especially the caddie experience that is offered at Cuscowilla. Many young men, attneding the universities of gC&SU in MIlledgeville as well as UGA in Athens caddie on this great establishment. The course offers many GREAT caddies with exclusive course and green reading knowledge. This is without a doubt the toughest golf course you will ever love!
