Raven Golf Course At South Mountain

I hadn''t played The Raven in a few years. What I remembered was a facility with great service and awesome conditions. This is no that Raven. What a shame. A playable and fun golf course for all levels but I just can''t get passed the horrid conditions, compared to what I was used to seeing!

i wouldnt call it easy, but this course is definitely much more playable for the average golfer than any other course i've played here in Arizona.

i played it the morning after a torrential downpour and although the bunkers were filled to the top with water, the green part of the course was in excellent shape. Obviously lush with the rain, but not wet enough to force a fat shot for each iron.

the only downside was that the putting and chipping greens as well as the driving range was shut down in the morning because of all the water. and also, it was cart path only, which are the worst three words in golf..

also, its pretty wide open.. i only lost one ball through 18, which happened to be a straight, blasted drive that cleared 300 yards into a standing water pond that i was unaware of.. oops..

But definitely check this course out..
you'll shoot a good round, save some money and enjoy yourself as well.. exactly how golf is supposed to be!
