This was by far the nicest public course I have ever played. Every thing about this course was perfect Very nice staff. Fairways perfect, very few divot marks, Roughs cut pretty short but they hold on to your ball. very long long rough lining sides of course. Well placed hazards that are kept in great shape. Some holes have a narrow landing area. snack cart comes around every couple holes. And the rangers keep a close eye on every one to ensure play is running smooth. We go to the OBX every year but this was the first time I played this course. From now on I will be playing a couple rounds here during my week there. For $89 it's the best course you could ask for.

Played this course last week while vacationing in OBX. The course was in great condition, better than any other course I have played this year. All the grass was freshly cut and very well maintained. The rough although cut relatively short was soo thick it was tough to get out of. Im from New Jersey, we don't have grass like that here. The 30 mph wind made it a very tough round. Would play again when in OBX.

Played here 8-7-08, as I do every year about this time. Course is in excellent shape, and at $89, is the lowest cost "full-sized" 18 hole courses on the OBX. Layout is not especially difficult, although there is plenty of trouble available for the unwary. Tee boxes were in good shape, fairways were lush, second cut grass is thick and juicy, greens were firm and pretty fast. Greens are fairly large, with modest contouring. Bunkers are plentiful, and seemed to play well (I was fortunate enough to avoid them today). Course is well marked, and generally play moves along well. Today we were stuck behind a slower group (they had an entire hole open ahead of them, and no ranger to speed 'em up), and it took exactly 4:30 to play 18, which is not bad for a resort area. Staff is friendly and professional: snack bar is modest, as the grille is in the midst of being remodeled. Pro shop is reasonably well stocked. If this course were in the Pinehurst or Virginia Beach area, it would be about $35, but it is OBX...pay the rice and enjoy The Pointe!
