Nice course around the prestigious Hotchkiss boarding school.

It is a 9 hole course measuring about 6,000 yards and playing to a par 35 (par 37 for women). The course meanders around the campus. The first and ninth holes are very tough holes. The rest of the holes are still challenging, but much easier. The greens were in excellent shape. My favorite hole was the downhill, 140 yard par 3 with lake views from the tee box.

The head pro there was very friendly and accommodating, as was the people we met during the day. One oddity of this course is that while you are playing, there are the schoolkids walking around the school property across fairways, so not only do you need to make sure the group ahead of you is clear, but you also need to make sure there are no kids crossing over to get to the nearby lake.

Our pace of play was excellent. Minimal waits at times, but everyone on the course appeared to adhere to proper pace of play rules. My wife and I finished 18 holes in just about 4 hours.

Cost was reasonable. Our weekend round cost $40 for 18 holes with cart.

Very much recommended if you are in the area.
