Much like anything in life, once you remove the heart and soul, all you are left with is a corpse that will wither and die. The Blue Island city officials, powers that be, puppet masters, and behind the scene players have essentially stripped this club of the main reason the clientele has chosen to make this their club of choice. They have shown themselves to be two faced, backstabbing liars and cowards. Attempts to discuss this situation with them in a professional manner have been met with ignorance. The old saying goes, "You can't fight City Hall" is true if you are not given the forum to state your case. What has been built over the last 20 years will cease to exist as new management takes over. The new managements failure to understand it's customer base, needs and wants will lead to this demise. Removing key and vital employees will only hasten this demise. It is disheartening to know that the tireless efforts of past and present employees will all go for naught. Flower arrangements and Martini's are not what your casual golfers are looking for in a golf course. I can only wish you the misfortune and lack of success that will be due to the new regime. To the new management - during your downtime have yourself a martini, I hear that they go well with a slice of humble pie that will be served to you in the near future.

This review or preview into the future of this course is based mainly on experiences that I have had over a 20 year period playing this course. What was at one time a place to relax and enjoy the friendships made, has turned into a very uncomfortable setting. Don't try to bring in a doughnut or bag of chips or the newly hired "food nazi" general manager will give you the third degree on how you obtained said items. Our league of over 18 years has left and will find a more suitable course which understands the needs of a golfer and the experience they wish to have on a weekly basis.

I honestly laughed at the last review of a guy who had an issue with booking a tee time. This course is a Chicago gem (guy probably plays 2 times a season). This course is very well maintained, the fairways and greens are in fantastic shape. They had rangers out moving the pace (played 18 in under 4 hours). Will play this course again soon.

Wow I have never been so disgusted with a course in my life. The experience might have been as bad had it not been for the fellow at the desk. He was rude and acted if I was bothering him by checking in for my tee time. I would have turned around and walked right out had I not purchased a groupon for this so called golf course. First of all, I called and called and called to try and book a tee time but nobody was answering the phone. I finally got fed up with getting an answering maching and booked a tee time through THEIR website which in turn booked it through golfnow. When I went to check in, first off the fellow didn't even greet me, snatched the groupon and tolf me too bad I can't use that because I booked through golfnow. I explained to him that the only reason I booked through them was because it was through THEIR website. He kept tell me it's not his problem he wasn't the one not answering the phone. He finally agreed to except the voucher for the round of golf that I had already paid for and did not say another word to me. I asked him about a key for the cart and he stated, againg with an attitude, that their already in the cart and rolled his eyes. The course itself was fair at best, but with this kind of staff I would advise any golfer to stay far, far away from this place. Don't waste your money to play at a place where they treat you like garbage. I golf 2-3 times per week during the summer months and have never in my life been treated like this at a course.

Death march on the weekend; either way overbooked or attractive to terrible golfers. Course has dry spots, cart paths are terrible, greens are in pretty good shape. However, great value! From greens fee ($30 for 18 w/ cart via golfnow.com) to the beer cart ($3.50 for a pint of coors light) to the grille ($12 for 2 hot dogs, chips, and domestic bottles), great bang for your buck.
