The second hole is something else--a shot in the middle of the fairway on a dry day can end up rolling into the water just because of the severe right to left slope of the fairway! The front 9 crosses over the same creek on most of its holes, and those holes are guarded by trees near the creek most of the time. In other words, keep it straight, and make sure not to misjudge distances, otherwise a lot of time may be spent hunting for your ball and/or playing penalty shots. This layout is often part of the reason why the pace of play can seem a little slow--especially on the front 9. The cost to play is a bit higher than for other places in the area.
