The 9-hole "Mendenhall" course at the Mendenhall Golf Course facility in Juneau, Alaska features 1,400 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 27. Designed by Tom File, the Mendenhall golf course opened in 1986.
You'll notice that I gave this course a 4 out of 5 for 'value' - that's because it's the only course for about 500 miles (the only course in Juneau). The 'amenities' consist of a cooler out front which advertises "drinks - $1.75" (inside the cooler there are a few waters, sports drinks, and sodas). Even though this course is a par-3 course (only 9 holes), I give an average difficulty rating because of the poor maintenance (the greens and fairways are not mowed as short as you'd expect, there is no drainage system, which = pooling water and sloshy muddy ground, and there is a creek which runs throughout/near most of the holes). The scenery 'at' the course would get a 1/2 star at best (not many trees, no hills, just a flat - difficult to navigate 9-hole course), but the Alaskan mountains in the background bump my scenery rating up to a 4 out of 5 stars. I also give the value a high rating because it's only about $12 for a round of golf - which seems to fit what you're paying for. Not sure who 'Tim File' is - but the guy running the course now is the grandson of the owners... FYI - no carts. FYI - no spectators/children allowed to follow/watch on the course unless they carry clubs AND pay full price for a round.
