Played this course twice in 2008. This course was in the best shape of any course I've played this year! (over a dozen different courses, 4 of them highly rated.). The greens were the smoothest and greenest of any course I've played! (I consider the putting surface the most important part of the course - and the hardest to get right.) Tee boxes were extremely well kept. And both times I've play, there were maintenace guys hand watering parts of some fairways... not that they needed it. This says a lot about their commitment to maintaining the course. This is a public course and at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Riverdale has two courses, the older Knolls and the newer Dunes. The Dunes course is a links style course that plays over undulating mounds, hence the name, Dunes. While at first glance the course does not appear intimidating, the rough is comprised of tall grasses that have a tendency to eat balls. There are a couple of spectacular holes on the back nine and overall this course provides a great day of golf. The clubhouse appears to be fairly new with a great 19th hole and decent breakfast burritos. All other facilities are on par with other courses and the staff is laid back and relaxed. When we played it was the middle of November and even still the temp was about 68, the sky clear and the sun shining. The course was not crowded and the pace of play was a little slow, but not too bad. I mean afterall, what else did we have to do - prepare for Thanksgiving?I recommend this course for anyone who enjoys links style golf. I enjoy it and compare the layout of this course to that of Rustic Canyon in Northern California.

Great course and in great condition. Greens were perfect. Not one of the hardest Pete Dye courses but great value!
