Fast greens

On calm days, this course is fun to play. It's real teeth show when playing the back tees and when the wind is up. Good bunkering will make you think about your approach shots. The greens are slicker than anywhere else in Southern Colorado, but they roll true and good putters will love them after sinking a 40-footer that held its line. With the condition it's in, the reasonable fee, the speed of the greens, and some very wide fairways, this course is on the short list of places to play. However, after multiple rounds, some holes are less than memorable and it attains a "ham and egg" feel. In a high wind you'll be thinking a movie would have been a better choice.

A good test of golf

Unpretentious but challenging course, especially from the tips. Nicely maintained greens, some tiered, some are very well-bunkered. Little in the way of water hazards but stay out of the rough. Trees not often in play but frame most fairways. Several wide-open fairways where you can really "grip it and rip it." Meanders through neighborhoods. Friendly clubhouse atmosphere, small pro shop. Pleasant place to play.
