Don't even pay attention to what John said. I'm pretty sure who he is and that's not his real name. Sounds exactly like a scrooge that every member knew about who would complain about just about anything. This golf course is one of the tougher tests of golf in Virginia. The rough is legit and the greens are immaculate and roll perfectly. They have some pace as well. You have to work the ball both ways to play well here but it suits a draw for right handers. I've played every course in Hampton Roads and nothing beats this challenge and layout.

Was a great private club but new gm has run the membership roster up to 800 plus members when the club charter is capped at 500. It is basically a public course now with a shady try the course deals and 2 pee wee “golf teaching pros” who are absolutely worthless. Range is overcrowded with juniors and dress code is out the door. it is a shame that a great club has been corporate golfed into the ground. If their was another private club in Chesapeake, most of us would leave. All old traditions are out the door as the new members wear hats in the restaurant, gym shorts and T-shirt’s on the practice area and drive carts all over the place. If this is growing the game, we are not golf anymore but flog. The new hedge fund managers who own club Corp have destroyed a good thing and it is obvious that they only care about short term about revenue and could care less about the membership who have paid the bills for years. May as well get rid of the board as they are not listened to and have no say in the direction of the club. 2 outside outings a week now for the last month...know any other “private” courses doing this? It will be a public course by the next recession.
