I am an amateur and one of the reasons this course appealed to me is the free practice balls advertised on their website which I verified when I called. Here is a quote from their website: "Aqua Range
A unique and expansive 12-acre driving range on the water with a large two-tiered grass practice range. Each green fee includes free practice balls that are well worth using in preparation for the challenging play ahead" When I announced that I wanted to practice for 1.5 hrs before I teed off they made me buy a bucket of practice balls citing the mgmt''s orders. The management is a joke in my opinion and at least two employees agree as they came up to me and told me how the place is being run in the ground and apologized for being made to buy the balls. Both said it is being run by someone who doesn''t know anything about golf. Poor, poor experience when you finally get out to play and run into a situation like this. The course was very challenging and interesting in design, but it was soggy and cart path only, which made for slow, sloppy play. I thought the greens were well maintained, but the fairways, rough and other areas were fair at best. Even though I didn''t buy anything from her, the beverage cart was the highlight of the day, she was pleasant, courteous and came by at least 3-4 times. The only way I would go back is if they called me, apologized, and offered several free rounds. This was my main 40th birthday gift from my wife meant to be a relaxing day for me, what a joke.
