Fort Belvoir Golf Club

An enjoyably challenging course. You want to bring your "A" game, as the course can be unforgiving. It also can be a bit crowded on the weekends, yet the staff is quite accomodating and friendly. My friends and I definitely enjoyed it and will play it again. We have yet to play their sister course (the Woodlawn) and look forward to playing it also. We've heard it's less hilly.
Probably the only drawback, is the slightly slow food service on the turn (friendly though). The chili dogs are good and messy.

Links course wandering through the forest. Either on the fairway or in the woods, not much in between. Extremely demanding driving course without a level lie anywhere! From the back tees it demands not only a straight drive but long too. Seldom reachable par 5's and the par 3's from the back are 186, 191, 218, and 233 yds.! What a handful!!! Perhaps one of the best layouts anywhere. Unfortunately the conditioning isn't what it could be. If they kept this course up it would be world class all the way. Excellent practice facilities with driving range, three greens, bunker practice and a shag range. Play isn't monitored well and is sometimes slow.
