THIS IS A CITY COURSE.... WHAT DO YOU EXPECT!I enjoy this place its not terrible but its not amazing. just your average Municipal City Course. I always meet GREAT people out there. Yes the course does need more work but there getting there. The staff has come a long way, there alwasy freindly when I go there and they do exactely what I EXPECT... that is take my money give me a cart key and let me know what time I can head to the number 1 tee. I don't know what more you want for $20, $8 if you walk.

Last year, some of the fairways at LB Houston were redesigned a bit to prevent flooding. Over all, however, the course needs attention. The fairway grass is quite thin and the ground hard; the tee boxes are hard; the greens are hard and bumpy. There is potential here, but more work is needed. Still, I play this course a few times each year because of the value. The fairway improvements last year were good; hopefully additional improvements will be made this year.
I decided to play this course after driving south on I-35 and calling several courses for their Sunday rates which most were charging $52 to $75 for mornings. I remembered a course on Luna and I called LB Houston who was charging only $33 with a cart so I decided to play there for the first time. They have a new staff who are very friendly and professional plus the food was good (hot dogs & burgers). I really enjoyed the course and the golfers I met that day. The fairways and the greens were in good shape and the cost is the best value in Dallas. When I want a good value, I usually drive to Country View Golf Course in Lancaster but now this is my value golf course and I plan to play there more often.
