I'm a bit of a golf course snob, so you'd think I'd hate this place but quite the opposite. If you're into conditioning then this is not the course for you; it's rough and that is being kind. But there is a unique charm to the primitive nature of the design, and there are some odd and quirky holes that you simply do not see every day. It's inexpensive and usually pretty empty late in the day. It's a fun and interesting little course. Places like Hancock are good for the game.

Price was good to walk only $11 for 9, but cart was $15. Had to do it was in a hurry and that course would have killed me to walk in 90 degree heat. It was a good course for short game, greens are nice to practice reading and putting. There were some challenging hills. It was my first time playing and it was difficult to know where to hit to off the tee box, once I found the tee box.

Hancock is what it is -- a 9 hole muni shoved into four square blocks of crowded Austin real estate. Because of that the course is really short; average hitters should only need to break out the mid-irons on the par 5 2nd hole. It's a really nice course if you like to walk, but is not a good course to utilize your golf game.

This 9-hole course has some challenging holes. The greens are in good shape, but the fairways need a ton of work. It has a holes where you have to go up or down a hill to hit the green. These are a real challenge. It just needs TLC.

Hancock has a certain charm, partly because it is the oldest golf course in the state of Texas. The course is not in very good shape and is very short. But its unique layout is fun, and it is cheap.

Close to work. Decent price. Nice course, worth returning to.
