The Blue Course has several small pond water hazards that come into play on nearly every hole. A great value for golf in this area and right off of I-20, real easy to find. We stopped here to play while enroute to a hockey game because it was on the way. The course overall is amazing, with a full restuarant attached to the clubhouse with great food and even better prices. One unique feature about this course is that there are no sand traps. To make up for that, and besides all of the water hazards, the area around the green is very hilly, where sand traps would be if they had them.

For a municipal course, Prairie Lakes is one of the better values (under $20 to walk, and it is a great walking course). Built around Mountain Creek Lake, but the lake only comes into play on four holes; there are lots of ponds on the course, however. Twenty-seven holes, all redesigned in recent years. The fairways and greens are in very good condition; there are lots of trees, and you can expect dirt or rocky lies there. The re-designed greens, unfortunately, are quite hard and do not hold approach shots well.

Nice 27-hole muni where you never know in advance which 2 nines you are going to play. The blue is probably the most difficult of the three. Holes 2-7 are quite tight with pretty thick woods lining the fairways; a straight tee shot is almost essential to a good score. Number 5 is a difficult par 5 that challenges the long hitter to clear a pond in front of the green and stop short of the trees behind. Good finishing hole that's especially a nice a bit before sunset. Great German sausage in the clubhouse grill.
