If you are a casual golfer that wants to play a descent course for cheap, I'd recommend Bayou. If you are a weekend warrior and don't believe in carts, Bayou is for you. On a weekend rate(walking), all you will pay is $8 for 18 holes. Probably one of the best deals in Texas along with Southwyck's $24 weekday w/cart rate with lunch. Bayou won't shock anyone with its beauty or scenary but it is a descent course whose greens are in great shape along with all grass 30 yards from the green. The greens aren't difficult to read and the pace of play is adequate. The back 9 is easier and generally in better shape than the front with less water. Again, if you're a regular golfer that wants to play a beautiful looking course, Bayou isn't for you. If you're looking for a course that you can get on cheap that isn't a joke with its maintenance, Bayou is for you. I generally like playing the well manicured courses for the mid-50's myself yet I wasn't at all disappointed with this one.

GREAT course for the money! Wonderful scenery, especially for a municipal course. Either this course lacks in difficulty, or we surely had our A-Game on.
