Ironwood Golf Course

This course is the best course in Cookeville. Fairly easy course except for hole 9 which is shooting over water. The staff is very freindly and helpful. I am sorry about the death of Bobby Nichols.

Hmmmm! Ironwood

Ironwood, refered to by locals as Ironweed for its goat pasture like fairways. Not off to a good start here are we? While the goat pasture fairways are a bad problem, there are a couple of redeeming factors for Ironweed.. opps..I mean Ironwood. The first redeeming factor is the course greens which are generally perfect year round. They usually roll smooth and accurately. The big thing Ironwood has going for it is it's owner and Pro. Bobby Nichols is one of the finest teaching Pro's and players ever to hit the links. If you have a problem with your technique, He WILL fix it! Bobby has played with and givin instruction to a Who's Who list PGA touring pro's. You make the trip to Ironwood not for the course, but for the finest instruction in the State of Tennessee and quite probably the entire Southeast. For this reason alone it is a must visit!
