I recently had the unique opportunity to play this amazing test of golf a couple weeks after the PGA. I learned that the PGA didn't even play the course at 75% as tough as they could have. A 270 yd par 3?? There was not a level putt on the course and every 490+yd par 4 was uphill. This course is American golf at it's finest. It proves that a course doesn't have to be surrounded by ocean to be one of the top in the world. By the way, if you land in the rough and you are over 250 out........yes, you still have to use a wedge to have a faint chance just to GET OUT of it.

Great old course that still has its teeth in the rough when grown tournament height, and the greens will always protect the golf course, pin locations can impact the best putters
What a great old course!!! No wonder the pros find it such a challenge... and have for 80 years.
