Great course. Excellently maintained greens. Very challenging holes.
best course in SoCal, hands down. great challenge for lower handicappers - specifically mid-irons and short game. puts a premium on every aspect of the game. at same time, the course gives opportunities to score.

I've golfed at some very nice courses in the past six months, and I can honestly say that this one was right up there. It was difficult without ever giving me the feling that it 3was designed to beat the hell out of me. I had a great time even though I didn't shoot my best round. There's just something about standing somewhere significant, like in the shade under Bogey's tree, or walking up the hill on 18 heading into your second shot that gives you the feeling that this is one of the truly special places in Golf. The clubhouse is pretty dated and reaks of "old money" but the course is very well kept, difficult and yet scoreable at the same time. If you have the means, I highly reccomend it.

A course like this should be used for 2014 PGA Championship.
once in life timethe most beautiful / difficult course i've ever played.feel like i was putting on a mirror
Holds up wellCourse has great pace, definitely not boring. Change hole 1 to a long par 4 and you have one brute of a par 70,fit for majors again.Too bad that new equipment has hurt overall scoring, but the players still seem to rave about it.Holes 10 and 18 are completely different but tough nevertheless.
GREAT VARIETYCOURSE ARGUABLY HAS THE FINEST SET OF PAR 3 HOLES IN USA. SEEN EVERY YEAR IN WINTER, ONE WONDERS WHY PGA ISN'T PLAYED HERE MORE OFTEN. ARCHITECT THOMAS TOTALLY UNDERRATED IN USA ANNALS.
Great Golf CourseDifficult to get on without a Member, but it can be done if you are a Member of a private club.they will charge a hefty greens fee for a non member playing as a guest of the club, $350.
Solid TrackThe history of this course speaks volumes of the courses character and challenges. The courses typical set-up offers a fair test to all golfers who are fortunate enough to play this renowned course. The greens are along with the well known kikuya grass are arguably the courses strongest defense. However, consistent ball striking is a must if you want to shoot a reasonable score. Keep the ball straight and it will make for an enjoyable round. If you venture into the kikuya good luck advancing the ball. Finally, once you are on these greens, they are many hard to read breaks which makes two putting a challenge on every green.RCC is one of the finest course on tour.
