We drove over from Denver on a weekday and did the Hampton Inn stay and play for $79 for 18 for the golf only. The day we played was very windy and with all the elevated tee boxes it made course extremely difficult, but still somewhat playable in the morning. After 18 we had a great lunch at the course. Since the course was empty and the now extremely windy conditions rendered the course almost unplayable, we then checked into a discounted second 18 with the person in charge at the pro shop. In response to our request for a discounted round, the person in charge told us the following and not in a joking way.... "Are you guys from Denver? This course is not one of your Denver Munnie courses. If you want a discount, then you can go to a putt-putt course down the way!" A simple, Sorry we do not provide discounts would have sufficed. Due to the rude comments, Redlands Mesa is now off our annual Grand Junction - West slope golf trip schedule. If you want some great courses in the same area Lakota Canyon and The Bridges are wonderful courses without the attitude.

Ridiculous. All it needs is a wind mill and a clown to be goony golf. The scenery is unbelievable (in a good way), as is the course (in a bad way). It seemed to me that every hole was a trick hole. Putting was like standing on the roof of my car, rolling the ball down over the windshield and trying to stop the ball at the hood ornament. At $77 each for our round, it was a rip-off. I have close family in Grand Junction and enjoy visiting often and playing other courses in the area but I'll NEVER play Redlands again.

The other reviews of Redlands Mesa are pretty accurate. I have golfed most of the best public courses in Iowa, Nebraska, and Colorado and this probably has the best and most unique scenery. Designer Jim Engh did an amazing job cutting this course through the mesas, using available water and elevated tees. Every hole is beautiful and unique. The course is really dry and the greens are pretty hard. I do understand that this is a dry area, but the #27 public course in the nation and the #1 or #2 public course in Colorado should be able to get enough water on the course. The cost is definitely pretty high, especially if you are not a Mesa County resident. For non-residents the cost is $105 normally and $89 for twilight. However, if you look for an on-line tee time you should be able to play the course for $69. All of this being said, the only course overall that I would put ahead of this one is Quarry Oaks in Ashland, Nebraska. Every golfer should play this course at least once.

The Golf Club at Redlands Mesa in Grand Junction, CO is simply spectacular. It's a blend of Colorado beauty with Arizona-type lush green fairways winding through rugged red rock. Combine this with Jim Engh's creative designing and you've got a golf experience that ranks sky high in fun, challenge, excitement and natural beauty. In addition, Grand Junction sits in a valley at the foot of scenic and historic Colorado National Monument. Try to play it all and see it all while you're in Grand Junction.
