Many of the golf courses in Las Vegas are known for their ability to punish golfers who sometimes have problems with accuracy. The Highland Falls Golf Club does not have many hazards and so is a bit more forgiving and gives a golfer a chance to put an outstanding round together. Golfers who can use their driver have a chance to be very happy with their round.
Step 1: Take out your driver and go for it. This is a course that rewards the big hitter. Highland Falls is 6,500 yards long — a very manageable distance — and has only three water hazards on the course. Not only are most of the holes quite straight, the fairways are wide and inviting.
Step 2: Be careful on the par-3 17th hole because water does come into play. This hole is only 168 yards but there is water along the right side, so if you drive long and left, you will catch the bunker behind the green. While the 17th is a dangerous hole, the rest of the course is golfer friendly.
Step 3: The price for a round of golf at Highland Falls is a reasonable $100, which includes the cart fee. As far as Las Vegas goes, this is an average to below-average price, and the golfer will get his or her money's worth.
Step 4: Architects Billy Casper and Greg Nash have designed a very fair course that is likely to leave the average golfer with a smile on his face. Many of the courses in the area are extremely challenging, which usually means that all but elite-level golfers will struggle throughout their round.
