The Angel Park Golf Club in Las Vegas was designed by several people. The main championship courses, Palm and Mountain, were designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay. The remodel of the Palm course, as well as Cloud Nine, was designed by Bob Cupp and John Fought. The course is located near the Las Vegas strip, and is actually a combination of several courses within one park area.
Features
The Angel Park Golf Club is a public facility that charges a daily fee. It is located 15 minutes from the main strip in Las Vegas. Its two main golf courses—the Palm and the Mountain--are championship courses. Another course, which is lighted and is a par-3, is called Cloud Nine. There is also a putting course called Seventh Heaven that is made up of natural grass and is lighted. In addition, there is a lighted driving range.
Function
The Angel Park courses are all very challenging and fun. The park itself, however, is available for several other purposes. Events can be held both on the course and in the attached restaurant. People who are planning weddings, meetings or other events can talk to the course manager for information regarding fees and the types of functions that are welcome.
The club annually hosts the Cleveland Golf Pro Scratch, as well as several other main events. The courses themselves are championship-level, so the United States Open Qualification games are often held on the course.
Geography
Because the Angel Park courses are located near Las Vegas, they are able to take advantage of the local beauty that is found in Nevada. Angel Park has been carefully constructed to retain as much of a natural feel as possible. The greens and fairways are lush and vibrant. The desert areas, with palm trees and other foliage, make beautiful places for meetings and weddings and for other events as well.
Types
Many different types of events can be hosted at Angel Park. Weddings are by far the most common, because of the beautiful restaurant and excellent caterers to be found on site. However, this can also be a wonderful place to have a reunion or other type of get-together.
Expert Insight
Arnold Palmer, one of golf's greats, designed one of the courses himself, so it is no surprise that experts agree the Angel Park courses are some of the best in the world.
