Aliante Golf Club is a public course that welcomes all golfers. It is surrounded by a planned community that includes almost 500 acres of land devoted solely to recreation. Located on the north side of Las Vegas, Aliante Golf Course is only about 30 minutes away from the Las Vegas strip and McCarran International Airport.
History
Aliante Golf Club opened with great fanfare in December of 2003. This 18-hole layout was designed by Gary Panks, who has designed dozens of golf courses from coast to coast. Aliante instantly became one of the crown jewels of golf in the Las Vegas area.
Geography
Aliante Golf Club was built for low and high handicappers alike. Typical of all Las Vegas courses, it was carved out of the desert, which means that if you stray too far from the fairways, you will find yourself in sand and cactus.
Features
The course's wide fairways are convenient for less-accurate golfers, and most people find the shorter holes more challenging than the longer ones. The course has two water hazards and a dry creek with wildflowers comes into play on 14 of the 18 holes.
Size
The course at Aliante Golf Club is about 7,100 yards long from the back tees, but plays about 5,400 yards from the front. The course is surrounded by a 1,900 acre planned community that will eventually house thousands of residents.
