History
Interactive Frontiers, founded in 1995, developed the motion-analysis software for sports training. Before creating V1, founder and CEO Christopher Hart designed and developed telecommunications software, video games and a word processor.
Types
V1 Pro is a software package designed for professional golf instructors, offering video capture, advanced drawing tools and audio recording. Two other V1 products--V1 Golf and V1 Home--provide video capture and basic analysis tools but don't offer voice recording.
Function
V1 Pro allows the instructor to record video of the student and plays it back in slow motion, highlighting areas that need improvement, using drawing tools while recording audio feedback for the student.
Features
V1 Pro provides split-screen capability for side-by-side comparison of the student's swing with that of a professional. The program also allows the instructor to download students' videos from YouTube.
Requirements
System requirements include Windows XP Home, XP Professional or Vista; Pentium III 800MHz or faster; 5 GB hard disk space; 512 MB system RAM; and DirectX 8 compatible VGA adapter with 8MB VRAM.
Famous Ties
Mike Bender and Martin Hall, the 2009 and 2008 PGA Teachers of the Year, respectively, use V1 Pro. Y.E. Yang, winner of the 2009 PGA Championship, revamped his swing using V1 Pro.
