Indianapolis can be a wonderful place to golf in the spring, summer and early fall. However, it can also be a miserable place to try to golf during the late fall and throughout the winter.

Average Maximum Temperature

The average annual maximum temperature is 62 degrees. July is the warmest month of the year with an average maximum temperature of 85 degrees.

Average Minimum Temperature

The average minimum temperature over the course of the year is 42 degrees. The coldest month is January, during which the average minimum temperature is 17 degrees.

Preciptation

Although July is the warmest month, which bodes well for golfing, it also is the month that see the most precipitation, about 4.5 inches.

Snowfall

Indianapolis gets an average of 23 inches of snow per year, with most of the white stuff falling in January.

Wind Speed

Golfing in July or August can be less complicated because the wind speed in these months is lower than in every other month of the year.
