Teaching Golf as a Career

Teaching golf can be a rewarding career. While you don't need a college degree to teach golf, you do need to have know-how of the game and a certification. It is so technical that it is important for golf teachers to be able to instruct and show the students how it is done.

Drive Instructor

There are teachers who specifically teach students to drive the ball off the tee. The teacher should know how to instruct the golfer to get the ball some arc and distance.

Putting Teacher

Putting is not as easy as it looks. Instructors will teach the golfer how to read the greens, how to angle putts and how to use every inch of the head.

Mechanics Teacher

The golfer's feet, elbows, shoulders, upper body and hips must be positioned and moved correctly to get a good shot, and the shots will change depending on the situation. It is vital for the instructor to be able to teach correct positioning.

Teaching Levels

A teacher should be certified to teach at all levels of golf from junior to professional golfers. No matter where a player is in his golf career, he still needs teaching.

Golf Shop Employees

While this is not a direct teaching job, golf shop employees help customers with their needs on the course because the instructor will use his expertise to direct the customer on the right thing to buy.
