Grand Cayman Islands Tourism
Grand Cayman is a popular Caribbean destination. It features golf courses, fine resorts and plenty of activities both in the water and on land.

Size

Although Grand Cayman is the biggest of the three Cayman Islands it is only 76 square miles in area, 22 miles long and 8 miles across at the widest point.

Golf

Britannia Golf Club on Grand Cayman was designed by Jack Nicklaus. The course's signature hole is the fifth, a par 3 where the fairway is interrupted by the windy Caribbean Sea.

Stingray City

Stingray City is a shallow sandbar off Grand Cayman where hundreds of stingrays--which can reach up to 6 feet across--have become completely tame and enjoy swimming with and being hand-fed by snorkelers and divers.

Beaches

Seven Mile Beach is Grand Cayman's most famous beach. It is widely considered to be one of the best in the Caribbean. Despite its name, the beach is only about 5 1/2 miles long and ocean erosion is making it smaller.

Hell

While on Grand Cayman you have the surprising opportunity to send your friends a postcard from Hell. Hell is an unusual rock formation of black rugged limestone that was formed over a million years ago and is now a popular tourist attraction.

Iguanas

The Grand Cayman blue iguana is an endangered species found only on Grand Cayman. Because there are only about 150 individuals left in the wild, your best chance of seeing one of the rare creatures is at the Iguana Habitat at Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park on the north side of Grand Cayman.

by Staff
According to the Darrell Survey, more than 90 percent of wood shafts on the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour and Champions Tour are graphite, while steel shafts in irons still remains the choice of most professional golfers. When it comes to recreational golfers, the stats are probably even more skewed toward graphite, and for good reason. Graphite shafts simply offer a wider range of performance characteristics and can allow golfers to achieve driving distances they never dreamed possible. But what makes one shaft different from another?
