Disney Children's Vacations

Disney Children's Vacations
Aside from a day at the theme parks, your children can enjoy many supervised activities at Walt Disney World in Florida while you're on the golf course. They can even practice their swing at miniature golf. You can relax, and your children can have a great time, too.

Fort Wilderness

The Fort Wilderness Resort on Disney World property offers a petting farm, hayrides, nightly campfire movies, canoeing, biking and horseback riding. Prices range from $9 to $45.

Pirate Cruises

Children between ages 4 and 12 can be pirates as they board a "pirate ship," look for treasure and enjoy lunch. This event is supervised by Disney Cast Members at four Disney hotels: Yacht and Beach Club, Grand Floridian, Port Orleans and Caribbean Beach. The price is about $32 per child.

Activity Centers

There are professionally supervised children's activity centers at hotels throughout Disney World. Children can meet other children between the ages of 4 and 12, play games, and have dinner and snacks. The centers are open from 4:30 p.m. to midnight and give parents a night out.

Miniature Golf

Disney World has two miniature golf locations: Winter Summerland and Fantasia Gardens. The first is themed as a Santa Claus resort with both winter and summer courses. Fantasia Gardens has one course designed after the movie "Fantasia," and the other half is a miniature fairway. Both parks are $18 for adults and $10 for children.

Birthday Parties

When you're finished golfing, if you are celebrating a child's birthday, you can choose to have a party or a fireworks cruise. Disney World has venues that cater to children's parties at Downtown Disney and resort hotels.

Using Frequency to Test the Flex of Your Shafts
by Jeff Jackson
What's the flex of your shafts? At one time, a golfer could safely answer that his or her shafts were stiff, regular or ladies flex. That simply isn't the case any longer. Most manufacturers have their own method of shaft measurement. What this means is that one company's "R" flex shaft may actually be softer than another's "A" or even "L" flex. How, then, can a golfer select the appropriate shaft if no manufacturing standard exists? In a word: frequency.
