Myrtle Beach Golf Information
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, is the golf mecca of the United States. It boasts almost 100 golf courses along the Grand Strand and countless restaurants. If you only have a short trip planned, it can be difficult to choose where to play, stay and dine. Here are some recommendations from an old local and frequent visitor.

Golf

Many golfers agree that the top five favorite courses in Myrtle Beach are the Prestwick Country Club, Legends Resort---Parkland Course, Barefoot Landing---Fazio Course, Caledonia and True Blue.

Dining

Some of the best restaurants in town include Flo's Place where its Cajun Cuisine features unbelievable oysters, and Backfinz with the best seafood in Myrtle Beach. Also try Greg Norman's Australian Grill and order the molten chocolate lava cake with your entrée so they have time to prepare it. Liberty Steakhouse and Brewery make the best microbrews ever. And Firehouse Subs is not your ordinary sub shop, because these subs pack serious heat.

Entertainment

For night-time entertainment, check out Crocodile Rocks: Dueling Pianos, featuring talented musicians competing for the crowds approval. There are lots of jokes, song parodies and fun. House of Blues is a great place to catch a concert of today's hottest artists. And Legends in Concert showcases celebrity impersonators of some of your favorite performers such as Elvis, Dolly Parton and Louis Armstrong.

Rainy Day Activities

If bad weather dampens your outdoor activities visit Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, Imax 3-D Theatre or Ripley's Aquarium.

Hotels

Holiday Inn Express at Broadway at the Beach is truly walking distance to Broadway at the Beach. The hotel is centrally located and very clean.

The Legends Resort Villas offer spacious condos with fully equipped kitchens. And there are putting greens located throughout the villas. The practice facility has lights for after-dark practice sessions. The Ailsa Pub is on location.

Using Frequency to Test the Flex of Your Shafts
by Jeff Jackson
What's the flex of your shafts? At one time, a golfer could safely answer that his or her shafts were stiff, regular or ladies flex. That simply isn't the case any longer. Most manufacturers have their own method of shaft measurement. What this means is that one company's "R" flex shaft may actually be softer than another's "A" or even "L" flex. How, then, can a golfer select the appropriate shaft if no manufacturing standard exists? In a word: frequency.
