i have been playing golf all winter in the cold of southern new jersey.i have no handicapp yet but i was a consistant 100 to 102 player at my country club.i never played competitive golf and thats why i never had a handicapp. since retiring from the state of new jersey, one of my goals was to play competitive golf in the mens association at white oaks country club in newfield new jersey. i have dedicated my self this winter to get my scores down to the eighties and for four rounds i have achieved that goal. yesterday i went out and of course told my 24 year old son that i was gonna whip him by 10 or 15 strokes..don you know that i shot a 105, 3 strokes higher then my average.. i couldent get off the Tee or make a putt. am i fooling myself into believing that i can consistantly be in the eighties? am i just a 100 shooter?anyway, i will be back out there working on my goals. one thing that i always tell my son is to play the whole round out so that you know your true score.i guess i have to take some of my own advice and keep on swingin...i need some words of encourgament right now.
