I recently found out that a local course has a driving range that has lights and stays open until 10 p.m. There is also a practice bunker and a very nice chipping and putting green, where the lights dont go out until 11 p.m. I dont get off work till around 7 or eight, so now I have a place to practice.

This place is my new home. I recently arranged for 4 golf lessons, I have one under my belt. I also just purchased a set of Mizuno MX-19 irons, 4-GW. They are steel shafts, I added 2 inches length and fatter grips ( I am 6'8" so my beanpole self needed something longer). In the last 3 days, I have logged 6 hours practice, I am now sticking to one club per bucket I hit. Most of my time has been spent on short game, which is improving, especially chipping (still working on putting). I still have no idea how to hit a proper bunker shot, think I will se about  spending an extra 25 bucks to get a sand lesson. I finally got my tax money, my wife asked me what I wanted to do with my share, so I bought clubs and lessons. I am now offically a golf junkie, I have a notebook I have started to log all my practice and rounds.My new stance and posture my instructor taught me have greatly improved my swing across the board, from wedges to irons to driver, speaking of driver, I dedicated a bucket to mine last nite and most went straight or ever so slightly right !!! This is a welcome sight, as most of my drives usally went w a y right. I widened my stance, tightened my grip, and took a more controlled back swing. I also now use a Rawlings 10.5 degree driver that has helped me get some nice ball flight. I hope some to put some of this to good use come Sunday when we play.
