Golf if played right wont lie to you. If your getting better or you are not practicing your score is going to show it.
As people improve most start to play matches, few things feel as good as looking another player in the eye and knowing at least on that day you were the better player. Its a shame the internet isnt like that, people that hide behind cartoon faces in thier living room typing things they would never say to your face are pretty sad.
I feel this type of person will never have the guts to show up at a course and put his game or his money on the line when you do that your being honest about your game and yourself. The kind of person who tells us he is a scratch player in one forum and then asks if we can help him with his slice in another then tells us he hits his drives
300 yards isnt fooling to many people. Im not real sure this type of person isnt the sort to pose as teen age girl
on other sites, who knows? I saw a post a few weeks ago that said golf is the truest test of character, maybe the internet is an even better test if  we are honest with ourselves.

After 30+ years of golfing and at least 15 years online, I can totally agree with your last sentence. At various times, I've been a chat site monitor and a newsgroup owner, and have probably seen it all. Honesty online is like calling a penalty on yourself in a tournament when no one else saw the infraction and it will cost you the win.

Now if you will excuse me, I have to go iron my Jr. High cheer leader uniform for the big game tonight. ;)

I think that you are right; but if you are true of heart who is it that you are calling out ?

Pointing fingers at people that have it seems been banned from the site would do no good, but the world has no shortage of gutless fools lets focus on whats good here.
I find the course reviews helpful and interacting with other sports people fun, last week somebody helped me locate a book by Sam Snead I have wanted for years, whats not to like.

Ive raised to daughters and the last thing they think of when you put them in front of a computer are golfers trust me. As for being the defender of anything,I defend your right to say anything that doesn't hurt other peoples feelings and with some of your posts biting my tongue isn't always easy.

you don't have to bite it you can say whatever you want. I like to incite riots sometimes!
